AI detector scores and why detectors disagree
2 min read
The AI detector estimates how likely a text is to be read as AI-written. The score is an estimate, not proof of who wrote the text.
What a check costs
- 1 point per word, with a minimum of 1 point per check.
- Free accounts pay from their signup points. Unlimited does not spend points, within a monthly fair-use limit.
- Checking the same text again can reuse your earlier result at no cost, unless you choose to check again.
- A text must be between 50 and 20,000 characters.
Why detectors disagree
Every detector, including the one your school or employer uses, has its own method and thresholds, and they change over time. So the same text can get different scores in different tools, or in the same tool on different days. Very short texts, lists and formulaic writing are harder for any detector to judge.
Results vary by detector and text; no tool can guarantee a result. Treat any score as a guide and read your text carefully before you submit it.
